Animes that played a part of my childhood memories

I can post youtube videos now ^^ lalala~

Here are Animes that I used to watch when I was a kid (Before I get my broadband)

5. Neon Genesis Evangelion

Cruel Angel Thesis

My dad used to rent the VCDs at the shop near our the traffic light junction (Bankrupt now) for me to watch (I’m not sure how old was I) I remember I was very excited because my cousin told me it was very popular in Japan and we hardly get exposed to Japanese stuff 10 or more years ago.

4. Macross

Ai wa nagareru

I watched this on the TV (Phoenix Channel; dubbed in Chinese) where it was broad casted daily at 5 pm. I remember the fact that I hated Minmay because she is/was (both acceptable) a b*tch but then she sings good (Something like Lacus from Gundam SEED)

3. Dragon Ball

Dan dan kokoro Hikareteku

To be honest, I probably watched Dragon Ball before I even know how to calculate (Around 4~6 years old) because I remember watching some tapes borrowed from my cousin (They rented them from VHS store) and it was very dragonball-like (Watched some on TV and it felt nolstalgic).

When I’ve grown older,I watched Dragon Ball GT and I really love Pan and Trunks ^^!!! and Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku (My 27 years old cousin knows how to sing this too and she lovvvvesss the song)

2. Cardcaptor Sakura

Catch you Catch Me

Oh.. this is the anime that I rented from VHS store and which got me totally hooked up on! Some CCS merchandises that I have (I am not addicted to Anime enough to buy collectibles just for your informations)

  • Puzzles
  • Clow CARDS!!! (I wish but they are tarot cards >.>)
  • First and Second movie
  • The whole season of CCS on DVD

Plus, I read hundreds of CCS fanfictions when I was younger o.o

Some trivias about Naki(or elezend?)’s obsession with CCS

  • She asked a CD store to import the movie just for her >.>
  • She used to buy all the CCS merchandises that she can find when she was out shopping
  • She can sing the english version of CCS opening song
  • She can memorize the name of the CCS characters in both Japanese/English (I doubt I can now though)
  • She printed Eriol out as her background image on her scrap book
  • She bought CCS manga in Chinese although she couldn’t read Chinese in the past and you don’t know how happy she was when she found out CCS was for sell in her town
  • She was EXTREMELY HAPPY when she found the second movie was for sell in some CD shop and bit her tongue just to check whether she was dreaming or not

1. Sailormoon

Let see… how was I introduced to Sailormoon? One day my cousin told me that there is a new “Japanese Cartoon” (not anime yet) called Sailormoon as advertised on the newspaper so I rented them (I remember I was in primary 2 so 7/8 years old). Ever since then, I got hooked up with Sailormoon especially Sailor Mercury (Ami Mizuno; I remember the name >.>) because she’s blue and I like blue (Any problem with that?)

However, I’m not as hooked up as my cousin because he (He reads my blog too)

  • made a web page with my Dan Dan kokoro Hikareteku cousin (They are siblings) dedicated to Sailormoon
  • Ripped music from the VHS and recorded them into casette (Now you know how long ago was it when I watch Sailormoon but I appreciate my cousin for copying the casette for me)

  • Taught me how to draw Sailormoon (I draw them all the time when I was a kid)
  • Downloaded Sailormoon’s last episode using 56k
  • Introduced me Sailormoon and also the cause to my anime/manga addiction >.>
