The 4 types of shoujo manga that you usually approach.

1. Handsome guy, common looking chick.
-The guy of course can be a child prodigy type and all the girls in the school are in love with him including your main female character which is common looking and stupid. Then, the girl will try her best and never give up on him despite the big difference between the girl and the boy and the guy will slowly fall for her.
In the end, the pretty ex-girlfriend of the guy comes back and told him she felt sorry for dumping him and the main female character will retreat but the guy realised that he loves her and chase after her. Happily and ever after. Example: Koukou Debut.

2. A hot chick and a wimpy guy.
-She’s the hot one and the guy is the wimpy one. All the guys like her because she’s hot and that includes wimpy boy. She is like the goddess of your dream; she’s just too perfect for wimpy boy! appearance-wise, voice, body and everything else. Wimpy boy in the other hand can’t do anything except for watching her from far.
One day she was attacked by a bunch of mafia and wimpy boy comes to the rescue! and returns with panda eyes. Then, a handsome guy who is much better than the wimpy boy in every single aspect appears and protected the girl. Wimpy boy thought that she’s better with the handsome guy and gave up. However, in the end the hot chick told wimpy boy that she likes him back ever since ages ages ages and ages ago somehow. Example? I”s
I know this is from the anime but there is love hina manga, right?
3. Childhood memory friend.
-”When we were small, you promised you will marry me,”
Deja Vu? well, this is actually the type that I used to read many years ago. The main guy moved away from this small town when he was small, now he returns to inherit the so and so’s property or parents got transferred back to the town. Then, he met this extremely pretty chick that is totally in love with him although he is not so good looking. After (Insert all kind of obstacles that you can find in a manga here), they are finally together. Example: Love Hina
A small note: This type of manga is usually the harem kind, ok?
The anime version of Special A will be aired this month.
4. She’s smart but not smarter than him.
-He’s the child prodigy however our main female character is the hardworking type that studied very hard to get into the top spot. However, she always lose to him. She might not realise it but she has quite a number of guys that like her and he is getting jealous because he has always liked her ever since long long time ago. She on the other hand, tries all her might to beat him and did not realise that she is falling for him as well.
The main guy is probably the extremely rich brat while she is a normal or poor girl. Later, after both of them realised their feelings, the guy’s family members will go against them and she will think, “Yeah, she got a point, I’m poor and he’s yadda yadda” and leaves him then the guy will chase after her and tell her he will try his best to get his family members’ approvals and confessed that he really love her. The end. Example? Special A.
