Impact of botters on Online Games community Part 3
A bot’s Pros & Cons on game developers Part 2.

The Down Side
90% of the players are botters, the rest are players.
This is what we’ve known when we played Ragnarok Online (Again?).
The key elements to fun online game experiences are
Friend
-It can be either the old friends that you invited or being invited to the games or nice friends that you just met through the game.
Partying
-Some places require party especially if you’re a level 10 player that wants to level at a level 15 place. Therefore, we tend to ask our friends to party with us so we can take down mobs easier.
Here’s the catch on why mobs are easier to kill with party
You need 10 hits to kill a rabbit.
There are 10 players in the same party and each of them is similar to you as they need 10 hits to kill a rabbit.
1 hit per person and the rabbit will die before it even hit you.If you’re soloing,
You need 10 hits to kill a rabbit as well.
The rabbit will hit you once every time you hit it.
You will be hit 10 times by the time you finish killing a rabbit.
Well, theorically.
Achievement
-A mmorpg player like me tend to level up fast although I always get beaten by others since I don’t grind enough plus I sleep more than others (Can you believe that I slept from 5 am to 5 pm today?!) so my playtime tends to be less.
So, when I play games and manage to beat others because I simply got the skill (Not botting skill), I will be proud! Well, so I guess if you achieve the max level in any game on any server… you will be proud of your achievement!
Other than achieving levels, we will also be proud when all our equipments are shiny shiny (Some newbie might private-message us to ask where did we get our equipments though but isn’t that a good thing?)
But when we are playing in an online game with 90% botters, what will happen to those keys?
Friends
-Botters are not players to start with most of the time since when you’ve got a bot already, what’s the point of playing? You just need to login to check how things go or whether you were caught by a game master or not.
Partying
-Botters usually level at places that’s lower than their level because it’s safer that way when they are trying to gain levels for the bot. This is because when you level at a higher level place, the risk of you getting killed by monsters increases.
Plus, when you die you will lose experience points (In most games) and sometimes item drop. After you die, you need to walk back to that place again and usually places with high level mobs are deep inside the ruin.
Therefore, when you can kill low level monsters… you don’t need a party.
Achievement
-When it comes to botting, what are you proud of? Getting 5 chars to the max level isn’t hard since you can run 5 programs at the same time (If your computer can support it). Maybe you’re proud of the money earned through gold selling in-game but that’s not something you can tell everyone about (If they are jealous, they might report you!).
Therefore, when there are botters, it sort of ruins the game because we lose the reason why we play such game unless your main reason is to earn money through gaming illegally.
Most of the people I know will quit the game if they find out there are a lot of botters in game since it will be hard for them to get a party in-game, ask for helps from players, be the richest player in game but of course, it will be easy to get items in game offline.
Yeah, I wrote a lot of the down side. I will be writing about Economy in-game for the part 4 of Impacts of botters on online game community.
